The Children’s Doctor is a unique paediatric practice combining doctors and allied health professionals in a number of key fields, providing continuity of care from infancy through to adolescence all under the one roof. We understand that children have specific needs that change with age, and we aim to educate and assist parents so that they can provide a nurturing environment in which to raise confident, resilient and happy kids.

Our healthcare services at The Children’s Doctor are provided in a modern facility which boasts a child-friendly waiting area and playroom.

The Children’s Doctor is a fully accredited general practice under the strict standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

APPOINTMENTS & FEES

Appointments

The following fees for common consultations reflect our pricing as of 1st June 2023.

It is our policy not to keep patients waiting for appointments. Occasionally the doctor may be running late due to an emergency or a patient requiring a longer consultation than expected. If you require an extended appointment (more than 15 minutes) to discuss a complex issue or multiple problems, please notify our receptionists when making an appointment.

To help suit the needs of our patients we offer different type of consultations;

  • Standard appointment – 15 minutes (1 issue)
    The fee for a standard 15-minute appointment is $85 with a Medicare rebate of around $39.75
  • Long appointment – 30 minutes (new patients  or >1 issue)
    The fee for a longer 30-minute appointment is $150 with a Medicare rebate of around $76.95. Please note that all New Patients attending the practice will require a 30-minute consult for their first visit.
  • Prolonged appointment – 45 minutes (complex)
    The fee for a longer 45-minute appointment is $200 with a Medicare rebate of around $113.30

Prolonged consults can be arranged with the reception team for appointments that require longer than 30 minutes.

If any forms are required to be filled by the Paediatricians, there will also be a fee charged.

Consultations that may require a longer consultation could include; New patients, full comprehensive health checks, Women’s health checks, newborn health checks, care plans.

Fees
Payment is required at the end of the consultation. We accept EFTPOS, Mastercard & Visa payments only and are a cash free practice. Please note that all Medicare rebates will be processed for you on the day also.

New patients to the practice are welcome to download a new patient registration form to complete and bring along to your first appointment.

AFTER HOURS CONSULTATION

If you require medical attention outside of our practice hours, please contact National Home Doctor on 13 SICK (13 74 25)

The National Home Doctor Service is available:

Weekdays – from 6pm
Saturdays – from 12 noon
All-day Sunday and Public Holidays

If you are seen by a Doctor from the Home Doctor Service, a written report will be forwarded to us for inclusion in your records. For all medical emergencies call 000.
